Meet Our Team
Barbara was born in Connecticut, raised in Massachusetts, and attended college in Arizona. She moved to Virginia in 1981 and in 1986 her parents retired to Florida. In 2011, after over 6 years of living with Alzheimer’s, Barbara’s mother passed away. Her father passed away 4 months later. The responsibility of liquidating her parents’ estate was left to Barbara and her brother.
Barbara found herself in a very long and overwhelming process of sorting through items and determining what had value and what would be donated or recycled. She found the house needed repairs, new paint, services disconnected, documents shredded, the exterior power washed, the windows washed, and bushes and trees trimmed. She was in constant communication with contractors as these projects were getting completed. This inspired her to begin Overwhelmed How Can I Help, LLC.
Since starting Overwhelmed How Can I Help, LLC, Barbara has helped many people in their various transitions. She has worked in a hoarding situation and also in finding a client an assisted living facility. Barbara understands that no transition is exactly the same – this is why she guarantees a very personal experience.
